Sweepstakes casinos operate under a legal promotional model that makes them accessible to Summerlin South, Clark County, Nevada players regardless of Nevada's casino legislation. Instead of real-money wagering, these platforms use two virtual currencies: Gold Coins (for free entertainment play, no cash value) and Sweep Coins (which can be redeemed for cash prizes or gift cards). The sweepstakes model is legal in 49 US states — only Washington state has restrictions.
The key distinction from social casinos: Sweep Coins have real cash redemption value. You earn Sweep Coins for free through daily logins, promotions, and a standard free-entry mail-in method. You can also receive Sweep Coins as a bonus alongside Gold Coin purchases. Because there is always a free entry method, the platform is not classified as gambling under federal or most state statutes.
